Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (Munich)

Though the latest to be purchased, the second most important collection of Avestan manuscripts is that of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in Munich. In 1863-1864 M. Haug many manuscripts acquired in Gujarat (India) for the British government. Among them, he buied some Avestan, Pahlavi and Vedic manuscripts for his own collection. After his death, they were purchased by the Königliche Staatsbibliothek in Munich, where they are now preserved. They were catalogued by Chr. Bartholomae (1915), Die Zendhandschriften der K. Hof- und Staatsbibliothek in München, Munich (available in http://mdz10.bib-bvb.de/~db/bsb00008141/images/).
