During his stay in India in 1755-1761, mainly in Surat, A. J. Anquetil-Duperron acquired 180 Avestan, Pahlavi, Persian and Sanskrit manuscripts for the Bibliothèque du Roi. Now they are preserved in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris. The Avestan manuscripts were catalogued by Blochet (1905), Catalogue des manuscrits persans de la Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris (available in http://gallica2.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k762201.r=blochet.langES)
